Science Box Bottrop
Description
The Science Box is a research project of the University of Applied Sciences Ruhr West. It consists of a micro house, a residential flat with approx. 30 m² of living space. Due to the simple structure of the building envelope, it is well suited for developing model-based investigation methods in the field of energy efficiency. In the Smart Home Lab, students examine processes relating to heating and ventilation. The energy control unit is easy to monitor, the laboratory has an installation for emulating CO2 emissions of persons, motors for opening the windows and single-room temperature control system. The focus is on the education of students and the testing of energy efficiency functions.
